A guy decided to go ice fishing one winter's day. As he started drilling his hole a voice from above said "There are no fish under the ice!" Three times he started to drill and three times he heard the same words. Finally he looked toward the sky and asked "Is that you Lord?"

Ice Fishing
East Canyon State Park & Reservoir is a 680-acre boating and year-round fishing delight nestled in the mountains northeast of Salt Lake City on state routes 65 and 66. Recreationists will find a wide concrete launching ramp, paved parking area, modern rest rooms, showers, fish cleaning station and 31-unit campground with a large overflow area. Two spacious, covered pavilions with electricity are available for groups. A concessionaire provides boat rentals and a refreshment stand.

Ice fishing- is the activity of catching fish with lines and hooks or spears through an opening in the ice on a frozen body of water.

Hardware Ranch
Hardware Ranch was purchased in 1945 by the State of Utah from the Box Elder Hardware Company. The ranch was purchased using sportsmans' dollars generated from the Wildlife Restoration Act. The original ranch covered 7,560 acres, but subsequent aquisitions expanded the ranch to about 19,000 acres. The state established the Hardware Ranch Wildlife Management Area as a location to operate a winter feeding program for Rocky Mountain Elk. Hardware Ranch provides habitat for many species of wildlife, promotes wildlife research and provides visitors with an up-close opportunity to learn about wildlife. Through a cooperative effort with a private concessionaire, Hardware Ranch offers horse-drawn sleigh rides to view wintering elk.

Bella and Bruce are the horses that took us for our sleigh ride.

Aftyn, Teagen and Railey loved the sleigh ride with the horses, and thought it was pretty cool to see the elk up close.
